2024 Canadian Arts Summit

April 4, 2024

The 2024 Canadian Arts Summit, held from March 21-23 at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, convened over 150 senior leaders from across Canada. Under the theme Futur Possible | Possible Futures, the Summit provided an opportunity for participants to step away from their daily routines and engage in meaningful reflection and dialogue with their peers. With a focus on building resilience, embracing innovation, and nurturing leadership, attendees explored pressing questions and challenges facing the arts sector today and tomorrow.

A highlight of this year’s Summit was the launch of the Emerging Leadership program, part of Business / Arts’ 50th-anniversary celebrations. Aimed at empowering leaders driving artistic innovation across Canada, the program invited 25 individuals to participate in the Summit and connect with an advisor from the Summit delegation.

During the three-day gathering, attendees participated in a series of engaging sessions, including panel discussions, peer-to-peer sessions, and interactive ask the expert sessions on topics including AI, advocacy and data and audience engagement.

We were thrilled to have Michelle Chawla, President and CEO of The Canada Council for the Arts participate in the conversations and to hear remarks from MP Taleeb Noormohamed, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage on the future of working together.

The Banff Centre and the Rocky Mountains provided the perfect backdrop as we gathered for three days of conversation.

This year’s gathering underscored a renewed commitment to working together, building up the next generation of leaders, and embracing the bold optimism required for progress. As the Summit continues to be a network of leaders working together throughout the year, we look forward to continuing these conversations. Stay tuned for the 2024 Summit Report – Coming Soon!
