artsvest is Business / Arts’ signature mentorship training program designed to build capacity in Canada’s cultural sector. artsvest provides small to mid-sized arts, culture and heritage organizations with resources, expertise and training in marketing, board governance and sponsorship along with matching incentive funds and peer-to-peer networking.

First launched in 2005, artsvest has supported 4,780 representatives from over 2,200 arts, culture and heritage organizations from across Canada, forming over 5,150 partnerships with businesses and raising over $23M in new private sector investment. Combined with matching funds, the overall impact of artsvest to Canada’s cultural sector is $32.2M. Read more on artsvest’s impact to date.
In May 2019, we were thrilled to launch this current phase of the program nationally, in partnership with Canadian Heritage’s Canada Cultural Investment Fund, who provided $2.33 million of continued investment along with our regional partners. Read the full press release.
Business / Arts’ artsvest program uses a unique funding model that leverages federal and local government funding to trigger direct, private sector contributions to small and medium arts, cultural and heritage organizations. Participating organizations will receive support, guidance and training on the topics of sponsorship, marketing and board governance through a combination of group, peer, and individualized mentoring sessions. artsvest aims to strengthen, expand and energize the work organizations are already doing in their communities by increasing their capacity to build partnerships with the private sector, practice good board governance, establish their brand and develop new audiences. The skills that are developed are used to help secure sponsorships that double in value when matched through the artsvest program — doubling the impact on the organization and the local community while supporting a pathway to economic recovery and cross-industry partnerships.
Congratulations to all participating organizations, and thank you to the dedicated Program Managers who make this program a reality!
With sincere and dedicated thanks to our partners:
