Strategies for Attracting Audiences

At the top of this session, Nik Nanos, Chief Data Scientist and Founder of Nanos Research, shared the latest findings from the Arts Response Tracking Survey (ARTS). This edition of ARTS provides insights into culture-goers’ current behaviours and spending habits, as well as top motivators for returning to the arts.

The session also featured a response panel with arts leaders from across the country. Together we considered how audiences’ current lifestyles and purchasing patterns are influencing their engagement with the arts, and explored marketing strategies and incentives for attracting audiences in 2023.

Speakers included:

  • Beverly Cheng, Head of Communications and Marketing, Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery
  • Dominique Lapierre, Executive Director, Théâtre de la Ville
  • Janet Bwititi, Director, Marketing and Sales, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
  • Nik Nanos, Chief Data Scientist and Founder, Nanos Research
