The Position

We are seeking two bilingual Research and Content Assistants to gather and organize relevant Canadian and International arts impact research for an environmental scan. Reporting to the Research Project Manager and collaborating with the Research Advisors, they will support the development of an arts impact research project, with the primary objective of building a library of research and resources that demonstrate the impact of the arts and culture sector.

This remote position is open to candidates from across the country with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement in Toronto.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidates are self-motivated and organized individuals with an interest in the arts sector and the impacts of the arts on society. They possess strong data management skills, complemented by a talent for in-depth research and analytical thinking. Detail-oriented, they excel at managing simultaneous deadlines and have a keen eye for industry trends. Strong writing skills are essential, and bilingualism (English/French) is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Search for relevant arts research from Canadian and international publications for the environment scan
  • Sort and compile the research materials into the environmental scan in categories determined by the Research Advisors
  • Write and edit case study templates, research fact sheets, research summaries, how-to guides, and related content
  • Manage the translation of content, editing and proofreading in both languages and ensure the final published content is accurate and correct
  • Provide the research materials to the Research Advisors for review, and feedback
  • Assisting in the facilitation of engagement workshops with sector participants and project stakeholders
  • Provide assistance on other ongoing and potential future research initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for the project

Qualifications

  • Strong research skills 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the Canadian arts and culture sector
  • Keen ability to take initiative, set goals and spot opportunities
  • The ability to work in French and English

              This position is supported through student work placement funding. As such, the candidate must be:  

              • Currently enrolled or recent graduate of an accredited post-secondary program, preferably related to Arts Management, Cultural Studies, Communications, Humanities, Public Relations, Research, Marketing, Media Studies, or related field;  
              • Aged 30 years or younger at the start of employment; 
              • Legally allowed to work in Canada according to the laws and regulations of the province or territory in which you work;
              • Either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection under the law
