artsvest returns to Toronto

May 15, 2019

B/A is pleased to announce dates for the Toronto 2019 artsvest program. With continued support from Canadian Heritage and Toronto Arts Council, who are providing investment support for this phase, artsvest Toronto will run from 2019 – 2022

“We are so pleased to be involved in the continuation of artsvest in Toronto,” said Claire Hopkinson, Director and CEO of Toronto Arts Council. “Our investment of $500,000, combined with Canadian Heritage support, provides a total of $660,000 in matching incentive grants to participants who secure sponsorship from businesses throughout the program. Combined with sponsorships from local businesses, this will translate to an investment impact of over $1.3 million into Toronto’s cultural economy from 2019 to 2022. This is a wonderful example of the power in partnership.”

A national matching incentive and mentorship training program for small and medium arts and cultural organizations across Canada, artsvest uses a unique funding model that leverages federal and local government funding to trigger direct, private sector contributions. It was first launched in 2005 and to date, over 1,800 organizations from across Canada have participated in artsvest, forming over 4,800 partnerships with business and raising over $21M in new private sector investment. The overall impact of artsvest to Canada’s cultural sector is $29.25M.

Participants benefit from one-on-one, peer-to-peer and group mentorship sessions that provide comprehensive training, resources, and expertise in sponsorship, marketing and board governance. artsvest also provides matching funds that give organizations added incentive to maximize business support in the cultural sector and establish long-term successful business and arts partnerships.

A total of $330,000 in matching incentive grants is available to selected Toronto participants who secure sponsorship from businesses throughout the program.
